Maulik S. Joshi

The Institute for Diversity in Health Management welcomes Maulik S. Joshi, Dr.P.H.  Dr. Joshi, a health care quality expert with a background in both the public and private sectors, has been named senior vice president for research at the American Hospital Association (AHA) and president of the Health Research and Educational Trust (HRET). HRET, founded in 1944, is a not-for-profit supporting organization associated with the AHA. Its current research focuses on quality improvement, patient safety, community health, leadership in governance and the elimination of disparities in health care delivery. In order to bolster its capability as an independent research entity, HRET has been streamlined and restructured. These changes will enable the HRET to more successfully utilize its research to improve health and health care. Dr. Joshi comes to us from the Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement (NRHI) where he served as chief executive officer.
