Diversity Pays: Evaluating Supplier Diversity Best Practices and Its Effects on your Bottom Line

Wednesday, September 29
12:00 – 1:30 p.m. CT

Featuring, Gleatha Glispie
Director of Business Diversity for Walgreens

Partnering with diverse suppliers typically has been viewed as a ‘goodwill’ gesture by corporations to support America’s women-owned and minority-owned small businesses. Today we find many of the nation’s largest health care systems are leveraging the value proposition for supplier diversity while creating brand recognition in the community.

Our presenter, Gleatha Glispie, Director of Business Diversity for drugstore chain giant Walgreens, brings more than 17 years of business diversity experience in the chemical and health sector trade industriesand is nationally recognized as a “grass roots” content matter expert on corporate diversity initiatives.

Ms. Glispie has earned a reputation as a thought leader on the subject of diversity. While working at Premier, the nation’s largest healthcare group purchasing organization (GPO), she developed the first business diversity initiative for the $33 billion company, successfully coordinating the diversity efforts for some of the country’s largest hospitals. Ms.Glispie founded the GPO members’ diversity committee and the annual diversity award recognition program and was appointed the first chair of the Premier Council on Diversity and Inclusion. Since joining Walgreens, Ms. Glispie has developed new supplier development programs and supply chain engagement processes to directly sustain and increase spending with diverse suppliers throughout the company’s more than 7,500 retail pharmacy stores.

Don’t miss the opportunity to learn the best practices in evaluating supplier diversity and to understand how these practices can improve the quality of service delivered and the bottom line for the health services industry.
