Hospitals and other health care institutions are faced with a daily onslaught of situations that demand their immediate and often urgent attention: patient care, government scrutiny, quality initiatives, labor issues, and community needs, just to name a few. And in the midst of all this they must look beyond day-to-day concerns to the future, not just of their individual organizations but the health care field itself.
That future will be defined by increasingly diverse communities with increasingly complex health care needs, and the survival of hospitals depends to a great degree on their ability to attract, retain, and develop the top-quality, diverse professionals who will best serve those communities and fulfill those needs.
As the only organization devoted exclusively to managing diversity in the health care field, the Institute for Diversity in Health Management is in a unique position to help you plan for a more diverse future while providing you with the tools to meet today’s challenges.
