February 5, 2018

ISSUE BRIEFS:

Working together, the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the National Urban League (NUL) are addressing inequalities in health care and increasing diversity in health care leadership across the U.S.

TRUSTEE CANDIDATES

Working with hospital CEOs and NUL leaders interested in opportunities to serve on hospital and health system governing boards, the AHA is providing support and education to NUL leaders throughout the process creating a replicable model for communities across the  country. The Institute for Diversity and Health Equity is facilitating this important work.

COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS

Building on the Urban League’s successful community health worker (CHW) program at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, AHA and the Urban League will help hospitals and health systems better integrate community health workers into their care delivery and population health strategies. The Institute for Diversity and Health Equity is facilitating this important work.
