State and regional groups form partnerships to advance health equity

In 2011 the National Partnership for Action to End Health Disparities launched 10 volunteer councils in an effort to tackle a range of health equity issues by implementing cross-sector partnerships across the country. Each council includes up to 35 members who are leaders in the health professions, business, non-profits, academia, and the public sector and have a commitment to ending health disparities. “The Nation’s Health,” a publication of the American Public Health Association, issued a special supplement highlighting how some of these partnerships have expanded over the past 7 years, click here to read more.
